Michael Schmitt Photography + Sahalie = Fabulous!

I wish I could say that I shot this but alas, I was just the photo assistant to magic maker Michael Schmitt + Sahalie’s own creative force Jen Gillette. So fun to see the finished product!  Click the link below to see what all the buzz is about…

K + M Wine: Labor Day Tasting: There Are Worse Ways To Spend A Monday Afternoon

Ok. If you haven’t had any K + M Alchemy Vineyard Pinot Noir or Chardonnay, I won’t hold it against you. Yet. Their vines are over 30 years old but they’ve only been on the market for a year.

However.

If say, I find out six months from now that you have yet to taste the sweet nectar from their vines, I will find you and make you take a moment to share a bottle or two. Or three. With me.

They’re located on the sunny side of Chehalem Mountain, a short drive south from Portland. And I spent Monday afternoon making pictures at their Labor Day tasting. Lucky lucky me.

Bert + Ernie mugging for the camera.

Ziggy supplied the appetizers.

Blog Back In Business With CCL + Circle Triangle Square

Welcome back to my blog, Through The Looking Glass.  Like Alice, it may appear that I fell down a rabbit hole…. but alas, nothing so exciting as that.  Just working out the details on my new site +  blog.  For anyone who has traveled that road, then you are familiar with the amount of time + energy it requires.

So now…back to business.

I photograph people.  And I wouldn’t have it any other way.  Whether it’s capturing a baby’s first toothless grin, a bride’s blush, or a stern corporate headshot, with every image I try to convey not only the action of the moment but the human-ness of the moment as well.  I love faces but I love even more the stories that those faces tell.  I know that sounds trite, but I can’t think of a better or more honest way to put it.

I recently photographed some stock + headshot imagery for Concepts In Community Living – a management company for assisted living facilities located throughout the northwest.  As some of you know, I have a soft spot for working with the elder population and have really loved shooting for Loaves + Fishes for the last several years, so I was thrilled when CircleTriangleSquare, a local brand design + project management firm asked me to work on this project.  Granted, this shoot was only their corporate headquarters, but the team at CCL was fantastic to work with + it’s clear they all love what they do.

So thanks to all of you for allowing me to capture your humans.  And thanks for looking.
