I had such a great time with THE family that plays together…family being defined in such an untraditional and beautiful way.  And play defined as anything that involves a ball or water.

In fact, chances are 99.999% that if ever there was an opportunity for me to capture a family portrait under water, this family would be most willing and able participants.

At the end of our photoshoot, I was serenaded with Top 5 Sweetest Of All Time versions of “America”.

“She Is Yours”.  And with those three simple words from a judge half a world away, Izzie + Kelly officially became a family.

I am an adoptive mother + firm believer that families can be created in a multitude of ways, shapes, sizes and colors…and this sweet family of two embodies much of that for me.

So I was absolutely thrilled to have the honor of taking their first family photos.  Their joy with each other was completely infectious and left my soul smiling long after I’d left.
