Avery Family
I had a great afternoon with this adorable family. And as one would expect, their Boston Terrier stole the show.

A portrait of a family. Who I have photographed every winter for the last five years and all of whom I very much love for the example they set to, pardon the use of an overused but very much applicable phrase, keep it real.
It was truly a magical morning. The incessant northwest rain stopped, the clouds parted, and someone flipped the switch on the sun as if we were on the set of a movie in a make believe Portland. Seriously. It could not have been any more perfect and Amy + Eric could not have been any sweeter. It is not easy to suddenly “turn it on” for the camera, in front of complete strangers jogging along the Eastbank Esplanade, and especially if you don’t get paid a bajillion bucks an hour. But these two were absolute troopers and you wouldn’t know they don’t do this sort of thing for a living.
Thank you both so very much. I can’t wait for your Edgefield wedding in September!!
This is for all of you out there who have the sun and the moon and the stars to thank for their girlfriends and how much they keep us sane and real and grateful for this life we’ve been given. They’ve seen you at your rockstar-status best and absolute puddle-on-the-floor worst and still love you all the more for it.
I am so very fortunate to have this in my life.
And with 10+ years of friendship behind them, Katherine + Susan share this gratitude for each other as well. Thank you both so much for allowing me in.
